Planning permission has been applied for in Westmeath for the development of a whiskey maturation warehouse.
The development is set to cost in the region of €138 million, and is set for a site Near Moyvore village.
The development application is for phase one of the development, with more upgrades planned further down the line.
The planning permission has been applied for by a consortium of local businessmen, who say they have already deals in place with three multi national distillers to fill up to 80% of their requirements.
If granted, work is expected to begin on the site before the end of the year, with the plan of having the new warehouses up and running by early 2019.
A public meeting is to be held over the development in Moyvore Hall on July 19th at 7:30 pm where all plans the consortium have will be outlined.
