Good sunshine across southwestern counties, but remaining mostly cloudy elsewhere. Another dry day for most, but a few scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle will occur, chiefly about Ulster. Top temperatures of 12 to 17 degrees, with highest values in the south. Light northwest or variable breezes.
Patchy light rain or drizzle in places Tonight, mostly over the northern half of the country. Winds mainly light and northerly or variable in direction leading to some mist and fog, mostly where clear spells occur. Overnight lows of 4 to 8 degrees, coldest in parts of east Ulster and southwest Munster.
A dull and damp start to Saturday for some, with patchy light rain affecting Connacht and parts of Leinster and Ulster in the morning, but generally dry with sunny spells in the southwest, once early mist and fog clears. Often cloudy with a few showers through the afternoon, but occasional brighter intervals also. Cool in the north and northeast with highs of only 10 or 11 degrees here, but maximum temperatures ranging 13 to 15 degrees in the west and south. Light northerly breezes.
Saturday night will be mainly dry with some clear spells and some patches of mist or fog. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 6 degrees, coldest in Ulster, where there will be a touch of frost in places.
Sunday will be mainly dry with bright or sunny spells. There'll be a few showers in places also. Highest temperatures o 12 to 15 degrees with light breezes. On Sunday night, showers will develop in northern areas.
Monday will be noticeably cooler day with moderate to fresh northwest breezes and highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees. There'll be sunny spells and scattered showers, these mainly over the northern half of the country. Some of the showers will become wintry on Monday night
Tuesday will be a cold day with sunshine and scattered showers, a few of them heavy. Some will be wintry, especially on high ground. It will continue quite cold with moderate to fresh north to northwest winds and highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.
Wednesday will be mainly dry with sunny spells. There'll be a few scattered showers during the day. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with moderate northerly breezes.
The nights of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be cold with temperatures falling to around zero degrees and with frost developing in many areas.
Current indications suggest that Thursday and Friday will be unsettled with some rain or showers at times.
