Farmers in Buckinghamshire have been left worried after a graffiti attack labelled the mart an ‘animal prison.’
The Thame Farmers mart has been the victim of a number of vegan protests in recent weeks the Farmers Guardian has reported.
Its understood 50 people have protested at the mart on a number of occasions this year.
The incidents have become so serious that local police have now been called.
Arch Dancer told Farmers Guardian that;
“I rocked up to the market yesterday and did not know of any organised events but the police had turned up just in case, which is ringing alarm bells.
“It concerns me that police are going to the mart just in case protestors are there regularly.”
The Thame Market Animal Save group have targeted the marts and locals fear the movement will spread.
