With the help of Discover Ireland's website, we've sourced the best things to explore this weekend:

Turf Warrior – Leenane, Galway

Wexford Festival Opera – Wexford

If you’re looking for a more cultural way to spend your evening, maybe the upcoming festival opera on Saturday will suit you! “Wexford Festival Opera, now in its 65th year, brings forgotten artistic gems and masterpieces to life through a feast of sound and award-winning sets and costumes, all set against the backdrop of the glorious National Opera House.” Read more here.

Mise Éire: Shaping a Nation through Design - Dublin

“History buffs and design enthusiasts alike will love this expressive and penetrating look at the national identity of Ireland as detailed by its best-loved designs. The nostalgia you have for that old tea kettle; the shape of a building you pass each day on your way home: the designs of our lives are often overlooked yet they play critical roles in our interactions with the wider world and, in some cases, even our psychology.

Mise Éire will welcome leading design historians, practitioners and academics to explore the ways in which we are shaped by the shapes of the things we use. An altogether stimulating, enlightening and thought-provoking conference, it will explore the nature of Ireland’s national identity by looking for clues to its diversity and richness in the art, architecture, and composition of the things we rely on daily.” Click here for more information on the event, which will take place across today and tomorrow.

Whiskey Live 2016 - Dublin

“Whiskey Live Dublin is a celebration of whiskey culture in Ireland. There will be food pairings and bespoke cocktails served up by some of Dublin's finest bars and restaurants, while samples from whiskey producers all over the country will be made available. With master classes for those who'd like to get to know more about the flavours and processes involved in whiskey-making, Whiskey Live Dublin is the perfect immersion in the stuff for foodies and wannabe mixologists.” Taking place this Saturday, you can find out more here.
