Tesco the supermarket giant is coming under fire this week after an investigation revealed it was overcharging customers.
A BBC Inside Out investigation has discovered that Tesco stores across the UK have overcharged on multi-buy offers.
The investigation found that two – thirds of Tesco’s UK stores had short- changed customers with multi deal ads still being advertised on shelves months after they had ended but when consumers went to tills they were not valid.
The Supermarket has said it will carry out its own investigation in every store across the UK.
It’s been reported that Tesco Ireland in a separate story are going to review their beef suppliers.
Many major Irish meat processors currently supply Tesco including ABP, Dawn and ICM.
Tesco is also the subject of examination by That’s Farming as part of our ongoing series on food mislabelling. The supermarket chain had come under pressure last year by well known chefs including JP McMahon over the use of own brand fictitious farms which had confused consumers over the actual basis as real businesses.
