Richard Henderson’s Ballynahone flock rose to the top on Saturday at the Northern Stars Texel sale in Ballymena Mat.
His Texel gimmer sold for a whopping 19,000gns and by doing so, smashed previous price records.She sold scanned in-lamb to Halbeath Woody, carrying twins. Selling for this sizeable five-digit sum, Richard’s flock set a new NI Texel Female record.
She will now join the pastures of James Innes Texel flock, which is managed under the ‘Strathbogie’ prefix.
A family of champions
The shining star follows hot on the heels of her ET brother that sold for 7,500gns.
“Her ET sister won first-prize ewe lamb at Antrim show in 2016. Her dam secured first prize ewe lamb at Antrim Show in 2013. Her two maternal sisters scooped first, second and Champion title at Antrim show this year.” Richard said.
