A project to equip an Agricultural college in Uganda, led by Vincent Flynn, a lecturer at Mountbellew Agricultural College, Co. Galway is proving to be a great success.
Mr. Flynn set out on a mission in September to fill two containers with equipment to send to a new Agricultural College established by the Franciscan Brothers for Agricultural and Rural Development.
“To date, the project has been very successful with lots of great items donated. We are thankful to everyone that has given us their support.” Vincent, project coordinator told Catherina of That’s Farming.
Locating a Massey Ferguson 135 in pristine condition
With a list of items required ranging from weighing scales, transport boxes, to simple farm tools, locating a Massey Fergusons such as 135 or 265 was one of the “main wishes” of the team, Mr. Flynn explained.
Last Saturday, a Massey 135 in pristine condition was collected from Ballinskelligs, in Co. Kerry. Gearoid, Realtin, Orla and Eileen O'Connor ( pictured above with Vincent Flynn) made the generous donation. The O'Connor family also donated a scooter in perfect working order.
“The containers have been procured and are ready for filling and hopefully will be dispatched in early January.” Vincent concluded.
