Bandon Co-op’s expansion plans will create fifty new jobs over the next three years. The co-op which employs 250 workers, has purchased a feed mill in Kinsale Co, Cork ,which gives them an excellent opportunity to grow sales in the region.
Gerard Brickley chief executive of the co-op said “ we can now buy, dry and store in the region of 30,000 tonnes of harvest grain, while also ensuring that our expanding dairy farmers are well supported by 100,000 tonnes-capacity feed mill’
Agriculture Minister Mr Coveney stated that the co-op would be looking to purchase in the region of 15,000 - 17,000 tonnes from local grain growers. This is made possible be the purchase of the mill and the grain drying-facilities. This is a welcomed boost for grain growers in the region.
