A report was published by Euromonitor Ireland, as reported by shelflife.ie, deemed that Irish people are the second highest consumers of Ice cream in Europe!
Coming second to the Swedes, the report “Ice Cream and Frozen Desserts in Ireland” also noted a 1% volume growth in 2017. This increase was put down to the love of Irish people for Ice Cream when the sun is shining in particular.
Frozen desserts also witnessed an increase, up by 6% in value from 2016. Euromonitor also made predictions for the ice cream markets until 2021, with ice cream and frozen desserts expected to see growth at a CAGR of 1% at constant 2017 prices. It is expected that this will reach as high as €177million!
With the weather improving, albeit slightly, we could see Ice cream sales soar over the coming months, not that we will complain!
