May 14th saw the launch of the Health and Safety Authority’s new farm safety campaign running across TV; radio; and digital formats.
The new campaign hinges on the insight that farmers who have been working on their land for years simply don’t notice the dangers anymore, a spokesperson for the HSA informed That’s Farming.
Rather than urging farmers to just “take care” or “farm safely”, the message is specifically focused on machinery, by far the main cause of deaths on farms.
This new campaign has been scheduled to overlap with a farm inspection blitz and will run from May 14th for 3-weeks. The campaign has been produced in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
