Grooming animals can be an arduous task, especially for those who show their animals in livestock shows and compete in competitions.
Many farmers spend hours preparing their stock for an appearance at a livestock show, whilst some of the equipment and products used can also be very expensive. But how about creating your very own mechanical grooming brush?
This can easily be done via two things, a toilet brush (pictured below) and an electric drill! To do this, first, remove any drill bit from the drill and ensure it is sufficiently charged. Next, you have to modify/shorten the length of the toilet brush and cut it to fit into the drill, where the drill bits are held.
Once you have this fitted in tightly, tight enough to ensure it will not slip out, you are ready to go! Check out the finished product in action in the video below (courtesy of Andrea Hammond). As you can see it effectively cleans all dirtied hairs and rids the animal of any shedding hair with ease. It might be worth a try for show season 2019!
