Glanbia have followed the path made by Lakelands, by announcing they will increase their base milk price for June.
They announced on Thursday that They will no pay suppliers 33cents per litre including VAT for Junes Milk.
This means they now pay the same as Lakelands, who announced their own increase on Tuesday.
This represents and increase of 1 cents per litre for milk at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein.
The Glanbia Chairman, Henry Corbally, when making the announcement also said the company have confirmed also a Fixed Milk Price Scheme for 2018.
This is phase ten, and will mean they will pay a fixed price of 32 cents per litre.
Applications for the scheme closed last Friday.
Glanbia will notify allocation volumes to suppliers within the coming weeks.
Glanbia were joined by Kerry in announcing a price increase. Kerry also upped their prices by one cents per litre to 33cents per litre.
