Limousin cattle breeders John and Martina Moloney, Ardnacrusha, Co. Clare raised a respectable €16,101 for the Intensive Care Unit at Limerick University Hospital.
The couple began selling lines for their fundraiser raffle back in August and drew the winners of the draw on Friday December 29th.
First prize in the raffle was Cillcon Lucy, a pedigree Limousin heifer, sponsored by John Moloney and she was won by Alan Morrissey. The second price for a two-night stay for two(including evening meal) sponsored by Great National Hotel Group; third prize was a €350 one-for-all voucher, sponsored by De Courcy Auctioneers; fourth prize was €200, sponsored by Ardnacrusha Limousins and the fifth prize was Champagne dinner for two, sponsored by the Bellbridge House Hotel.
Speaking to That’s Farming, John Moloney said:
“My wife got septicaemia back in April. On Easter Sunday morning she was admitted to the regional hospital in Dooradoyle, Co. Limerick. To show our heartfelt appreciation to the hospital, we organised the fundraiser event. We would like to thank everyone for their support.” John told Catherina of That’s Farming.
