Regional Agriculture Shows; Rare and Traditional Breeds Show in Offaly; events at Agri Aware’s Family Farm and the 63rd Cork Veteran Run.

Munster Vintage Motor Cycle & Car Club

The 63rd Cork Veteran Run hosted by The Munster Vintage Motor Cycle and Car Club LTD takes place this Saturday, July, 21st, with two routes - a short run of approximately 70-miles and a longer route.

The event starts at Keary’s BMW, Eastgate, Little Island, Co. Cork, with lunch and a prize-winning ceremony set to follow. Six Club Awards are up for grabs, with each award winner to receive a glass trophy.

Rare and Traditional Breeds Show

Steeped in family history, spanning numerous generations, Mount Briscoe Organic Farm, Daingean, Co. Offaly will open the gates to its farm to play host to Mount Briscoe Rare & Traditional Breeds Show this Sunday.

The event is an annual celebration of the diversity of native and traditional breeds of farm livestock and includes cattle; sheep; horses and ponies, complemented by displays and commentaries.

Numbers prizes are up for grabs, with exhibitions set to showcase breeds including Dromineen; Dexter; Kerry Cow; Speckle Park; Longhorn; Belted Galloway; The Old Irish Goat and Hampshire Down. Find more information here.

Other Agricultural Shows

Agricultural Shows taking place across the country this Saturday include Tattersalls July Show, Co. Meath; Granard Show; Inishowen Agricultural Show, Co. Donegal and Sligo County Agricultural Show (Riverstown).

On Sunday, July 22nd, Erris Agricultural Show, Co. Mayo; Blennerville Pony and Agricultural Show, Kerry and Bridgetown (South-East Clare) Agricultural Show will take centre stage.

Events on Family Farm

Smart farming methods and all the largest technology being used on Irish farms will be demonstrated by IFA officials at Family Farm at Dublin Zoo on Saturday, July 21st from 11am-3pm.

On Sunday, the Farmhouse doors will open from 11am-3pm for an array of beekeeping demonstrations and expert talks by Brian O’ Tool of Leinster Honey.
