A farmer has been left counting his misfortune after an unknown dog attacked and killed eight of his sheep, as reported by fwi.co.uk.
The attack is thought to have taken place on Tuesday night on the farm near Brynford, Wales. It resulted in not only the death of the eight sheep, but also the injury of two more and an alpaca.
The two injured sheep were taken to a local vet for treatment, while the Alpaca required treatment for a small bite mark on its back. The incident was confirmed on North Wales Police’s Rural Crime team on Twitter, with the words, “The farmer is a repeat victim and these were some of the less gruesome pictures to share.”.
The police also released the graphic photographs of the aftermath of the attack and clumps of wool and blood can be seen littering the lands. The dog who carried out the attacks is yet to be identified.
“The unknown dog trapped and killed some of the sheep in the corner on the left and down an old mine shaft on the right. The white you can see is the remnants of the sheep’s fleece,”, police noted.
Calls have no been made again from Police, calling for greater dog control. Farmers meanwhile have called for stricter punishments for dog owners not controlling their animals.
