A farmer was killed in a tragic accident on a farm in Clare yesterday morning, as reported by us here.
The farmer, aged 71, has today been named as local builder and farmer Pat O’Connor. It is understood that the builder/farmer died whilst working on a mini-digger in close proximity to his home in the Feakle area of the county. It has been reported that he died as a result of crushing injuries and is survived by his ten children.
The farmer was discovered by relatives in the early hours of Tuesday morning, May 15th, after a search ensued following his failure to return home. His death brings the total number of agriculture-related accidents to seventeen for 2018 so far.
An investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
