An investigation is underway following the discovery of up to five dead horses which were dumped in Boyle Co. Roscommon, according to Shannonside.
Roscommon County Council has received 144 environmental complaints last month - 137 of which are in relation to waste or litter.
They were informed of three to five dead horses in Boyle on April, 23rd, 2018, data released under the Freedom of Information Act has revealed.
The local authority has also received reports of dead lambs; calves and deer, which were found littering the countryside, as reported by us here.
One such complaint included two dead lambs which were discovered in Castlerea, while another dead lamb was found near Athlone. A case involving numerous dead deer came to light in Southern Roscommon, while reports were also filed following the discovery of a dead sheep along the road near Roscommon town.
