The opening cattle sale for 2018 met with a good lively trade with a noticed demand for the forward type stores and the beef type cattle.
Forward bullocks over 550kg selling from €1100 up to €2.20/kg given for the good Charolais and Limousin types.

Lively cull cow trade especially for the fleshed FR type cows selling from €100 with the kg for the more aged type cow with the younger fitter FR type cows selling from €2.50 with the kg while the store continental type cows selling from €300 with the kg upwards and heavy cows making a very lively and demanding trade.

Good lively trade for the weanling bulls selling from €2.20 to €2.60/kg with the weanling heifers meeting a similar trade from €2.20 to €2.50/kg.
Full clearance in the calf ring with a noticed demand for FR type calves. Good square calves selling today from €120 up to €170 per head for FR calves.
Next Friday there is a special Fatstock Show and Sale Friday 26th January for the males and Friday 2nd February for the Females.
