Smaller entry of cattle had in Raphoe this week on Thursday, although brisk trade was seen on all types of stock. Top quality lots fared very well with buyers eager to purchase.
Bullock prices ranged from between €2.20 to €2.80 per kilo, while bulls made between €2.30 to €3.10 per kg.
Heifers sold well at averages of between €2.20 and €2.90 per kg. Fat cow prices varied greatly with lows of €530 per head and high prices of €1,415 per head.
Top class bull prices, over 600kg, ranged between €580 to €920+. Beef bullock prices reached highs of €985 and lowest prices of €745. Store bullocks meanwhile made between €400 and €713 and over.
Beef heifers again did well with prices ranging from €675 to €795 and over, while store heifer prices stayed between €300 and €670.
Finally in Dry cow prices there were very varied results, with lows of €530 to highest price of €1,415.
Sheep Sales continue next Monday from 11 o’clock, while cattle sales will be held as normal next Thursday at 11a.m.
