‘Stronger demand’ and ‘much-improved’ trade for cattle in Roscommon

According to a spokesperson for Roscommon Mart, there was a “very large” entry of stock on offer at last Friday’s special bullock sale, which saw “a stronger demand and much-improved trade”.

Bullocks fetched an average of €2.91 per kilo up to €3.60 per kilo, while dry cows ranged from an average of €2.39 per kilo up to €2.70 per kilo.

The spokesperson noted that “there was a good attendance of customers at the ringside with online bidders also active”.

The spokesperson reported a “large” entry of sheep at its weekly sale on Wednesday, September 6^th, 2023.

Prices for ewe lambs made up to €152 and finished lambs pushed up to €150, while stag ewes peaked at €175.
