Raphoe Mart held their first sale on the year on Thursday, with good ringside activity. Bullocks 775kg hit highs of €1,880 in Raphoe Mart, while another heavy 715kg bullock went under the hammer for €1,815. The trade continued strong throughout the sale and the top cull cow of the sale fetched €1,880.
Speaking to That’s Farming, Ann Harkin, Manager of Raphoe Mart said:
“It was a very large entry of cattle and there was a full ringside of buyers. Prices surpassed our expectations, taking into account the weather conditions at present. There was a good clearance rate all round, with quality store cattle in strong demand.” Ann said.
“With the sheep on Tuesday, there was also a good trade and good clearance also,” Ann added.
