Recently, our local dealership acquired the Rolland product range which compromises of Cattle Trailers to Low Loaders, Dung Spreaders to Silage Trailers and everything in between. Located in the west of France, Rolland began manufacturing in 1946 and have evolved into a major force on the continent. Manufacturing over 2000 units per year at their ease, they have in total 15 product families and over 100 products. Located in 30 different countries and with over 300 dealerships in France, the once small time village located workshop has transformed into a state of the art facility equipped with robotic welders and a high tech shotblasting facility.
So, whats the gear like ?
Its top notch equipment. It really is. No matter what machine you look at, no matter what piece of that machine you look at, its build quality is second to none. Take for instance their cattle boxes, the floor is on hydraulics, your stock wont be stopping and staring at a steep ramp up into a dark box, instead they march on at floor level, close the gates, lift her up and away you go. That takes some heartache out of loading cattle and potential injury to not only the animals but you aswell. Heck, the floors can be coated with rubber resin at your request to avoid your stock slipping while in transport.
Their Silage and Grain Trailers are equally as good as their stock haulage brother. The "ROLLFARM" range come in at a shade under 5 ton empty and will carry 14 tonnes in the "5327" model. With a sprung drawbar and balance beam axles, these carriers glide seamlessly over whatever terrain is thrown at them. To sweeten the deal, the rear door is fully hydraulic and water tight, a testament in itself to the precision of engineering that goes into the machines.
The new "ROLLFORCE" Compact range is Rollands Muck Spreader department. The RF-C 4508 has a 8m3 volume and can be fitted with new ESP 16 or ESP 19 beaters which gives strong and accurate at spreading work. It can hold on a single axle 10 tonnes and with a slurry tight rear hydraulic door, it keeps the material secure in its hold during transport. One additional extra I love about the these spreaders is the option to have hydraulic light covers. Once you begin to raise the back door to lash out the manure, covers also rise up to cover your lights, stopping any breakages and contamination on them. Now that's forward thinking.
So there you have it, I've only glanced on 3 out of over 100 products from their range and its a highly impressive one at that. Their motto is "Rolland, a visionary manufacturer" and from first impressions, you'd have to agree. You can check out the Rolland range at "Suirway Farm Machinery" in Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperary or www.suirwayfarmmachinery.com
