Ennis Mart – cattle prices – 25-01-2022

According to a spokesperson, a larger entry than the previous week, comprising almost 700 lots, turned out for Ennis Mart’s cattle sale on Tuesday, January 25^th, 2022.

They reported that trade was “stronger again this week” in both the bull and heifer weanling rings.

Prices hit €2,390 or €5.69/kg in the weanling heifer ring, which was recorded for a 420kg Limousin-cross heifers.

“We had 50 suck calves available, and a strong trade prevailed,” the spokesperson explained.

“Friesian bulls made €50 to €105 for lesser calves with the better stronger bulls making €110 to €205.”

“Aberdeen Angus bull calves made €265 to €360. Charolais bull calves made to €615. Pairs in the suckler ring made to €1,900, and in-calf lots topped out at €1,720,” the spokesperson concluded.
